Skegness Post Office reopens for first time since closing at the start of the pandemic

Skegness Post Office has reopened after closing almost two years ago at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

The previous branch at Beales on Lumley Road closed in March 2020 when the department store shut, but has now opened in a new location.

It will now do business at IQ Stores, further down Lumley Road, where there is a Post Office counter alongside a retail counter at the convenience store.

The opening hours are Monday to Friday: 9am – 5.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 2.30pm, offering 48 hours of Post Office service a week.

Matt Hatfull, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored Post Office service to Skegness as we know how important a Post Office. We are pleased that the service has opened before the busy Christmas period.”

The new premises has a wide door with level access at the entrance and inside there is a hearing loop and space for a wheelchair.

Because the Post Office is so close to the previous location, people can still use the same car parking and bus routes as they did before.

There is time-restricted layby parking is available nearby.
