Slow postal deliveries: is it Royal Mail, or a royal fail?

Since Christmas we have had two deliveries of mail on Belvedere Street, Ryde.

Having seen our previous post operative, he advised he no longer did that route but he knew of no problems as the ‘frame’ was empty each day.

We received a bundle on the December 29, January 13, and then none until January 18.

In order to test our speedy postal system we posted a letter first class on January 10 at Ryde post office and only received on January 18, despite it having only travelled approx half-a-mile!

This was only received so quickly because I’m sure as we also had a special delivery item that had to be delivered that day.

Other post operatives I have met say we should get alternate deliveries of parcels and mail each day, so what is going on?

The sorting office does not answer the phone, customer services have more than an hour’s waiting time, all I want is our post please!
