SMP awards return as 2025 entries open

The Strategic Mail Performance (SMP) awards ceremony returns this September to celebrate achievements across the UK mailing and multichannel marketing sector.

Categories will include Sustainable Campaign, Bright Futures and SMP Performance, as the awards spotlight standout green production, rising stars and outstanding campaign results.

Lucy Swanston, Strategic Mailing Partnership (SMP) chair and managing director of Nutshell Creative, said: “Last year’s entries stood out for their strategic brilliance and real-world impact – backed by people whose talent and passion truly inspired.

“I’m looking forward to what this year will bring. If you have delivered something exceptional, now is the moment to share it – these awards are here to champion you.”

Business mail, advertising mail, door drop or partially addressed mailings can be entered, including B2B or B2C focused.

Winners of the Bright Futures Award will get to choose either a tutor-led virtual masterclass or a self-study online course, worth up to £549.

UK comedian Hal Cruttenden will host the ceremony while logistics company Whistl is this year’s Gold Sponsor. Laura Sanjurgo, Whistl’s commercial director for mail, said: “We look forward to seeing the entries from across the industry demonstrating the power of mail.”

This year’s event will take place on Thursday 25 September at The Steel Yard, London, with winners announced on the night.

Young talent and sustainable print were also spotlighted at last year’s awards where one of the night’s top prizes, the platinum Mail Performance Award, went to the RNLI’s 200th anniversary fundraising campaign in collaboration with Go Inspire, Paragon and Encore Group.

Ahead of the submissions deadline, the SMP will host a ‘How to Write a Winning SMP Award Entry’ webinar on 10 July at 10am, offering practical, insight-driven advice.

Awards are free to enter and open to all SMP members, while non-members can join for free and enter. The deadline for entries this year is 22 August.

Established in 2008, the SMP is an industry body representing the print and mail industries across the UK. It is supported by Royal Mail and is currently made up of over 500 members.
