Southend and Canvey postcodes hit with Royal Mail delays

A list on the Royal Mail website shows several postcodes in Southend are currently being affected, with one Canvey postcode also facing delays.

Deliveries across Southend’s SS0 to SS4 postcodes, as well as SS9, SS22 and SS99, may be disrupted as a result of these issues, while Canvey’s SS8 postcode is also affected.

In a message to customers, a spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your understanding.

“We’ll be back in touch to inform you when the resourcing issues have improved.”

If you need to collect an item for which Royal Mail have left a ‘Something for You’ card,  check royalmail.com/services-near-you for details of customer service point locations and opening hours.

The website explains Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses it has mail for six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors,” it continues.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
