Speedboat killer transferred to “monster” prison with Ian Huntley and Levi Bellfield

Jack Shepherd, nicknamed the ‘Speedboat Killer’, has been transferred to HMP Frankland where he will serve alongside some of the UK’s most notorious criminals.

Durham Prison, nicknamed the ‘Monster Mansion’, is home to the UK’s most dangerous prisoners, including terrorists, murders and rapists.

The facility near Brasside, which was built in the 1980s, holds male prisoners over the age of 21 who are considered high risk and sentenced to four years to life.

Former web designer Shepherd will now serve the rest of his sentence here alongside evil criminals like Soham murderer Ian Huntley, serial killer Levi Bellfield and Sarah Everard killer, former cop Wayne Couzens.

In 2019, the 33-year-old was sentenced to six years in prison for manslaughter by gross negligence following the death of Charlotte Brown, 24, who died in 2015.

As well as a separate stint of four years for attacking a bartender.

A source told Mirror Online that Shepherd is guarding his dead in Co Durham Prison.

They said, “He spends his days writing to friends and family and getting along with other inmates.

“Prison has been a humbling experience for him.”



Shepherd fled to Georgia, abandoning his speedboat

Shepherd had met Charlotte through the OkCupid dating site. The couple had gone to dinner at the Shard in London before he offered to take her for a ride on their faulty speedboat.

Charlotte, from Essex, drowned after being thrown from the boat, hitting a log.

Shepherd fled to Georgia and failed his trial but was extradited.

He had settled with ex-television journalist Maiko Chanturidze in the former Soviet republic.

He hopes they will be reunited there when he becomes eligible for release in two years.

The source said: “Jack still misses Maiko and Georgia very much.

“He thinks it will probably be a more welcome home for him than Britain.”
