The sweet spot has been launched to coincide with Lover’s pop-up post office.
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and the village of Lover is going all out once again!
The Valentine Post is back for the fourth year with a range of cards available online.
From Saturday (8th February) the pop-up post office opens its doors in The Old School allowing romantics to buy their card in person.
Every card bought via the website, or at the pop-up post office, will be stamped with the famous ‘Lover’ hallmark.
NEW CAFE:
This year there’s a new addition in the form of the Darling Cafe.
Run by a team of volunteer cupids in The Old School it will sell ‘an array of lovingly baked biscuits and cakes’ as well as hot beverages.
The cafe has been named after the Darling family who live in the village and are keen bakers.
SPECIAL POST BOX:
Royal Mail, who are sponsoring the annual event, have unveiled a special post office in the village.
Located on Besomer Drove it’s been decorated with Cupid complete with his bow and arrow!
Mark Street, Head of Campaigns at Royal Mail said they were delighted to help spread the love.
“As loved ones prepare to show their affection for one another, Royal Mail is playing an important role, as always, in delivering cards, letters and gifts across the UK. Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to let that special person in your life know how much you love them and we are very pleased to play a part in this loving celebration.”
VILLAGE MASCOT:
Also new this year is a card featuring one of Lover’s popular four legged residents, Stanley.
The Jack Russell Terrier belongs to a local family and was also fittingly born on Valentine’s Day!
All money raised by the cafe and the pop-up post office will be put towards renovation at The Old School which now operates as a community centre.
