Springfield post office to lose employees to early-out deal

The president of Springfield’s postal employees union expects 30 to 40 workers to take advantage of a $15,000 early-out incentive announced this month by the U.S. Postal Service. The union president says the loss will aggravate problems with mail processing that was moved this summer from Quincy to the Springfield station at 2105 E. Cook St.
