St George’s Square post box filled to brim with letters

A POST box pictured filled to the brim with letters in Worcester has prompted an apology from Royal Mail.

The post box on St George’s Square, in Barbourne, can be seen with letters stacked as high as the letter slot.

This image was sent in by a Worcester resident who says she saw multiple people cramming letters into the post box.

A Royal Mail spokesperson apologised to customers affected by recent strike action.

They said: “We would like to apologise to any customers impacted by damaging CWU industrial strike action.

“We are looking into clearing the postboxes as quickly as possible.

“We are doing everything we can to deliver Christmas for our customers, and would like to thank the increasing number of posties returning to work each strike day, temporary workers and managers from across the business who are helping to keep the mail moving.”
