In 2003, a commemorative stamp was issued featuring a photo of the Korean War Veterans Memorial statues in Washington, D.C. Artist Frank Gaylord, a World War II paratrooper veteran, created 7-foot-tall statues of 19 soldiers walking through a barren snow-covered field.
