Parcel price comparison website Parcel2Go has posted revenues of over £100 million for the first time. By comparison, nine years ago revenues were just under £16 million.
Strong international parcel growth drove the revenue increases, in a large part due to a weak Pound encouraging exports.
Adam Harris, MD of Parcel2Go explained that another key driver is the cost of posting a parcel through the website: “Our parcel rates are the cheapest in the industry and our domestic headline price of £1.99 excluding VAT is over 17 per cent cheaper than Royal Mail’s equivalent service.”
Harris added: “We also make sure our technology is the best in the industry – allowing our customers to send and track their parcels as easily as possible.
“The launch of our new app for iOS and Android and our improved Smartsend tool, which saves time for anyone selling on marketplaces when sending their sold items, are great examples of this.”
A deal between Parcel2Go and FedEx to allow customers to send parcels to the US for next day delivery should allow for even faster growth in the next year or so. The company has relationships with 10,000 UK stores as well as online shopping sites Amazon and eBay.
