Surrey town centre to get new Post Office after old one lost when WH Smith closed

A post office will open on Camberley high street, bringing back a branch to the town centre.

Camberley’s Post Office at 51-53, GU15 3RB, closed on February 8, when the WHSmith store where the branch was based shut down.

Its replacement on 3A High Street, GU15 3QU, will now re-open on Wednesday, April 23 at the A30 end of the High Street.

An experienced Postmaster will be opening a new convenience store and Post Office with time restricted parking, and 92 hours of Post Office service a week, significantly longer than the opening hours previously offered.

Opening hours will be Monday to Saturday: 7am – 7pm; Sunday: 9am – 5pm. For more specialist services the times will be Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5.30pm.

As the Post Office is keen to re-open the branch as soon as possible, they have decided to go ahead with its plans.

There is still the opportunity to give feedback on access into and within the premises which will close on March 13.

Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 145900.

Access will be level at the entrance to the new premises. Low-level serving counters, writing desk and hearing loops will be available.

The will remain as a mains Post Office offering the same wide range of Post Office Services as before. This includes cash withdrawals, DPD drop off and collections and travel insurance.
