Teenage e-scooter rider seriously injured in ‘deliberate’ hit and run in Bristol

A teenager was seriously injured after a car ‘deliberately’ crashed into his e-scooter before the driver fled the scene.

Police say they are investigating the incident which happened on Vassall Road in Fishponds at around 11pm on Tuesday, July 19.

Witnesses described the car being ‘deliberately’ being driven towards 19-year-old who was riding an electric scooter on the road at the time.

The incident happened on Vassall Road in Fishponds.

The driver of the car – believed to be a red Skoda – failed to stop. The victim was seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Thankfully, his injuries are not thoght to be life-threatening.

Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries as part of their ongoing investigation and are now calling for more witnesses to come forward. If you were on Vassall Road and saw the incident – or the vehicle in the moments before or afterwards – call 101 and give the reference 5222172210.
