Teenager rushed to hospital after being ‘slashed’ in horror machete attack

A teenage boy was left injured after being slashed in a horror machete attack in Greater Manchester on Wednesday night (February 4). A cordon was put in place on Old Lane in Chadderton after the incident.

The victim was rushed to hospital from the scene following the knife attack, which included a machete. Clips posted on social media showed a large cordon in place after police raced to the scene on blue lights.

The road was taped off by officers close to Union Street and the Colliers Arms. Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service also attended.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that emergency services had been called to reports that a teenage boy had been assaulted with a suspected machete. It’s understood he sustained a slash wound to his arm.

He was taken to hospital for treatment. Details about his injuries have not yet been confirmed. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Following the attack, the Colliers Arms issued a statement on social media saying the incident was unrelated to the venue. Owners wrote: “We believe an incident happened last night on Old Lane. While the police did tape off parts of the road near the pub, we had no incidents in or outside the pub last night.

“Here at the Colliers we pride ourselves on being a community pub and we wouldn’t be able to be without you all. So thank you to all our regulars.”
