Supermarkets and High Street shops are taking on extra staff for Christmas and one is promising to help arrange shifts around family commitments.

Tesco in Grimsby says it is looking for workers who can help give customers some extra help at Christmas. In return it says ‘family and lifestyle commitments’ will be taken into account when arranging shifts.

High Street chain Next is also hiring staff for Christmas and Buzz Bingo is also recruiting people to work in Grimsby.

Royal Mail postal delivery driver

Hours: £11.50 per hour working from between mid-morning 11am until early evening 7pm (Part time working opportunities are also available)

Working as a Postal Delivery Driver for Royal Mail in Grimsby, you work any 5 days from 6 with an opportunity to work overtime.

Delivering mail and parcels to houses and businesses within a set area, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your local community, working flexible hours to deliver outstanding levels of service expected by our customers.

You’ll start your day for an hour or so in the local delivery office, sorting the mail for your route, before taking out your van to complete your round. You’ll each be given a hand-held computer device to capture customer signatures for deliveries and the round will take around four hours to complete.

The hand-held computer will also act as your routing system putting your round in the most economical route, telling you which house to go to next. You’ll also work in all types of weather so if you’re the outdoors type even better!

Grimsby’s Buzz Bingo Club is looking for Customer Service Assistants to work in the machines area of their club.

This role includes making sure customers understand the games on the machines and looking after them whilst they play. It’s a great role if you are a gaming enthusiast and would be keen to learn a bit of maintenance on the machines.

The role is all about doing things to make players and staff really feel like part of the community. The little things are often the things that make a really big difference to customers. Things like remembering players’ names listening to stories and chatting about their day serving them their cup of tea, made just the way they like it carrying their shopping bags or holding their umbrellas.

Your main role will be to work effectively within the Triage Function based in the multidisciplinary Single Point of Access. You will provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and facilitate proportionate holistic assessments both face to face and over the telephone.

The nature of the work is very challenging and professional resilience, often in an unpredictable environment is key to the Social Work Practitioner role. You will need to be at your best working under pressure and be able to respond effectively, calmly and professionally during difficult situations.
