Tesco expands Evri parcel lockers to more stores under trial

This will see Evri-branded lockers installed at a small number of Extra and Superstore locations

It comes under a broader locker hub trial that brings together multiple parcel providers within its stores.

Tesco said the trial builds on its existing partnership with Evri, which allows shoppers to earn Clubcard points on parcels sent via the delivery firm.

It reflects a push to offer more services to customers and integrate more features into their physical stores.

A Tesco strategic partnerships spokesperson said: “We’re constantly looking for ways to make the shopping trip even more convenient for our customers, and as part of a small locker hub partner trial across a number of stores, we’re pleased to introduce Evri lockers.”

Liam Rogan, head of ParcelShop and Locker Network at Evri, said: “By partnering with Tesco and MFG (Motor Fuel Group) we’re reinforcing our commitment to a choice of quality delivery methods.”

Retail Gazette shares that the trial is expected to inform whether a broader rollout of Evri lockers across the supermarket’s estate will follow.

Which Tesco stores will have the Evri parcel lockers?

In total, 30 Tesco stores will have Evri parcel lockers in the trial, with 23 having gone live at the time of writing:

Tesco also offers Royal Mail parcel lockers

Earlier in March, Tesco also announced that Royal Mail parcel lockers would be trialled at a select number of stores.

The first lockers went live at stores in these locations:

• Burnham-on-Sea
• Bury
• Cullompton
• Horwich
• March
• Preston
• Salisbury

Tesco explained that the Royal Mail lockers will be available alongside its InPost parcel lockers, giving customers more ways to send, collect and return parcels.

These parcel lockers can print labels for those who aren’t able to do so at home.

To use the parcel lockers, customers need to pay for postage online and get a QR code or request a QR code if they are returning a parcel.
