Tesco has announced it will recruit 9,000 extra staff to help it cope with the Christmas rush.
The seasonal customer service roles will support teams in Tesco superstores and Extras on what is the busiest time of year.
Tesco people director Rachel Bushby said: “Christmas is a special time of year at Tesco and it’s also one of our busiest.
“We’re looking for colleagues who will give great customer service and who enjoy working as part of a team that really goes the extra mile for customers.”
The jobs will be in place from December to January and see you working up to 36 hours a week.
But that doesn’t mean the job will end for you, with Tesco saying after the seasonal period ends, festive staff are encouraged to apply for any permanent jobs available in their stores.
Recruitment begins on Monday 7th October, you can see what’s available near you here: www.tesco-careers.com/christmas
Successful candidates will be invited for an interview in store.
The better news is Tesco is almost certainly not the only supermarket looking for a helping hand over the festive period.
Last year Sainsbury’s was looking for 11,500 extra staff, while there always new jobs up for grabs at the likes of Royal Mail, Next, Boots and more.
