The London postcodes being hit by Royal Mail post delivery delays – problems explained

There are two London postcode areas currently facing Royal Mail delivery delays. The South London locations of Tooting and Wallington are being impacted by issues with households not receiving any post for days.

The Royal Mail has highlighted the issues on its service update site, with the SW17 postcode in Tooting and SM5 plus SM6 postcodes in Wallington among four areas in the country currently experiencing the worst delays in deliveries. Explaining the potential causes, a Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors. In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.
