London, Dec 24 (EFE) .- The London Stock Exchange closed this Friday almost flat, with a slight decline of 0.02%, a session shortened on the occasion of the Christmas Eve holiday.

The FTSE-100, the main index in the British capital, fell 1.24 points, to 7,372.10 integers, while the secondary FTSE-250 gained 0.02%, 3.68 points, to 23,270.43 integers.

The London Stock Exchange will reopen on the 29th, since December 27 and 28 are public holidays this year in the United Kingdom.

At the close of the stock market, the British pound advanced 0.10% against the euro, to 1.1844 euros, and gained 0.07% against the US dollar, to 1.3414 dollars.

Retailer B&M European Value Retail led earnings, advancing 2.35%, while the software company Sage Group rose 2%, the airline group International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) 1.86%, the manager of funds Pershing Square Holdings 1.84% and the distribution firm Ocado Group 1.41%.

On the other hand, the mining company Antofagasta led the losses, with a fall of 1.57%, the food company Associated British Foods fell 1.44%, the also mining company BHP Group 1.25%, the bookmaker Flutter Entertainment 1 17% and the Royal Mail postal company 0.82%.
