At least four post boxes in Chorlton has been taped up – and it’s not clear why.
Three post boxes on Wilbraham Road, as well as one on Beech Road, have been shut with black and yellow tape.
A post shared to the Facebook group, Chorlton M21, highlighted the issue.

There’s speculation it’s because of a lost key.
One person said they’d ‘overheard’ parcel office staff saying a key had been misplaced.
Others don’t believe that theory – theorising that there must be more than one key.
The Manchester Evening News has contacted Royal Mail, but has had no response.
Three of the four post boxes run along the main shopping area of Wilbraham Road.

One outside the Post office, one at Four Banks, and one opposite the Spread Eagle have been taped off.
The box on Beech Road has been taped shut for around two weeks.
There are still many unaffected post boxes in the Chorlton area, including those on Manchester Road and around Sandy Lane.
