“Second hand retail sites and apps have exploded over lockdown and we should thank younger shoppers for that,” says Mary-Leigh Bliss, a fashion analyst at YPlulse. “There have been enormous spikes in traffic and activity to sites like Depop during this pandemic. For young people growing up in the shadow of a recession, price is everything, and second-hand is not only affordable, it’s good for the environment. And online shopping makes it so much easier to find.”
