Christmas is the busiest time of year and with so many parcels and letters needing to be delivered. And Royal Mail is looking for an extra pair of hands to help them sift through thousands of items of mail in time for the festive season.

For those looking to earn some extra cash this Christmas, Royal Mail has added hundreds of job vacancies across the UK.

In Cardiff, they are looking for “seasonal mail sorters” to help them ensure that everyone gets their Christmas parcels and mail in time during the winter months.

Here is everything you need to know about the roles in Cardiff

The role is to help deliver Christmas parcels by unloading mail from the van to the centres and helping to sort letters. In Cardiff, roles are available at the Cardiff Mail Centre, Penarth Road. Successful candidates can earn over £14 per hour working shifts between Monday to Saturday. The shift patterns available are late shifts between 2pm to 10pm, paying £12.99 per hour, or night shifts between 10pm to 6am, paying £14.49 per hour.

There is no formal qualifications needed for this role, although previous experience working at a warehouse, distribution company or sorting work is a plus. Candidates must be comfortable “standing for long periods of time” and “pushing trolleys up to 250kgs and lifting mail bags up to 11kg.”
