The Spice Girls – including Victoria Beckham – set to ‘reunite for King Charles III’s Coronation

The Spice Girls are reportedly set to reunite for King Charles III’s Coronation in May.

It is rumoured that the pop icons – including Victoria Beckham – will take to the stage as a five piece as part of a huge royal concert amid an epic three-day celebration.

It is said that royal organisers are ‘super keen’ to bring in the girl group as a ‘star signing’ for the concert, with the girls having met Charles several times throughout their career.

If it goes ahead, it will be the first time the Spice Girls have performed as a five-piece since the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

King Charles’ three day Coronation spectacle will take place between Saturday May  and Monday May 8.

A source told The Sun: ‘Royal organisers are super keen to secure Britain’s biggest girl band and the Spice Girls are seriously pondering a return to the stage as a five piece for such a historical event.

‘Certainly the reality is that the Coronation is as special as The Olympics – a one off celebration and unique performance.’

The insider went on to add: ‘There is a general sense that a reunion could happen for something this significant. Mel B and Mel C are the ring leaders in the group, trying to make it happen.’

MailOnline have contacted representatives of the Spice Girls for comment.

Last week, Mel C opened up on her disappointment at the Spice Girls not being able to perform at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert in June last year.

She said: ‘You know what, we would have loved to be there but it was just one of those situations where it was impossible.

‘With us girls, there is so much that we would like to do but there are four, five, people involved with families and other commitments and responsibilities. So, I think that was something that we had to miss.

‘We weren’t happy about having to miss it, but yeah, sometimes things don’t work out.’

Her comments were followed by a recent interview with Mel B in which she hinted at a special upcoming project with all five of the Spice Girls.

She teased: ‘I can’t tell you exactly, but there’s going to be something that is going to be announced pretty soon.

‘I am probably going to get told off. It is a project that we’re very excited about. It will be all five of us.’

The Spice Girls last reformed for a stadium tour in 2019, with Posh Spice declining to join them at the time.

Despite Victoria being a no-show on the most recent Spice Girls reunion, her bandmate Mel C has admitted getting back on stage with Victoria is her ‘ultimate dream’.

The Spice Girls reformed without Posh for a stadium tour three years ago and while the group – which also includes Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner – had an ‘incredible time’, they’d love to go on tour again as a quintet.

Melanie, 48, said: ‘We were so beautifully received, we had the most incredible time.

‘It was the moment we realised the impact we had had on a generation of people. We are keen to get back on stage, it’s something we continue to discuss. It’s just navigating everybody’s life, work, families.’

Asked if another reunion would include Victoria, she added to The Times’ Saturday Review: ‘That would be the ultimate dream. The door is always open for Victoria, we would love to see her back. We keep our fingers crossed.’
