Christmas is a very busy time for a lot of companies, especially in retail and hospitality, and many are looking for staff.
However, applications in Bristol are currently up 16.7 per cent year-on-year, according to data by job site CV Library.
So what can you do if you’re looking for a temp job over the festive period?
Lee Biggins, chief executive and founder of CV Library, said: “Be sure to keep an eye on social media and use job boards to search for jobs from popular seasonal employers, such as Tesco and Royal Mail, to give you the best chance of finding a Christmas job.
“These roles prioritise soft skills, particularly in the hospitality sector, so make a point of highlighting your communication, organisation and customer service skills on your CV.”
Here are some of the roles available in Bristol this season.
Christmas mail sorters
Salary: £9.50 – £11.50 per hour with holiday pay and uniform
Location:Avonmouth
Manpower recruitment agency is looking for Christmas mail sorters to be based at Severn Beach. This work is mail sorting and will involve some other general warehouse duties. Various Shifts available including nights, days and weekends.

A successful applicant will work in a circus big top serving drinks sand engaging with clients in an entertaining atmosphere. The company prefers candidates to have a year’s experience working behind a bar.
