With a recent surge in Kent cases of COVID, Christmas this year will undoubtedly feel different.
This follows the announcement that no further restrictions will be implemented before the Christmas period, despite a reported 19,000 cases in the county alone.
The responsibility for health and safety, therefore, has fallen largely to the public this year as the holidays draw closer.

By now most people have their festive plans organised with COVID making an impact, one way or another.
Royal Mail worker Hannah, 28, is very excited about the holiday season and a rest from work.
“I’ll be spending time with family hopefully, fingers crossed,” she told KentLive.
“I’m looking forward to it, I’m just chilling out.
“I’ve been having a very difficult month at work at the Royal Mail, it’s been very busy.
But alongside the celebrations, health and safety is still a big priority for Hannah.
She said: “We’re keeping safe and we’re testing regularly so we’re all being careful.”
Attitudes aren’t always so positive however, after what has been a very difficult year for many.
Paul, 48, told KentLive: “I’m not really looking forward to it all.
“It will probably be the same as last year.
“I’ll see my family so we’ll do home tests to keep safe, that’s it really.”
Paul also feels the last few years have taken a toll on Rochester itself.
He said: “The high street’s dead, isn’t it.
“The last time we came down here for a drink there was no one down here at all, it’s gotten very quiet.”
For others, there is a very clear sense of frustration.
Kenneth, 68, thinks there have been mixed messages from the government around what rules to follow.
He said: “I think the government is a bit hypocritical, they’re telling you one thing and they’re doing the opposite, so we’re not going to change our plans.
“As long as you’re careful and if you can stay in your own bubbles you’ll be fine, that’s how I look upon it.”
