BANGKOK, Thailand – Their Majesties the King and Queen granted a royal audience at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, Dusit Palace, to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who was accompanied by Dr. Wiroj Yommuang, Director of Hatyai Hospital. On this occasion, Their Majesties graciously bestowed royal financial support for the rehabilitation of Hatyai Hospital, including the procurement of medical equipment to replace items damaged during the recent flooding.
Their Majesties also granted a royal audience to the Supreme Commander, the Commanders-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Navy, and Royal Thai Air Force, as well as the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, who received royal unmanned aerial vehicles. These drones are designated to support search, rescue, and relief operations for flood-affected communities in Songkhla Province and other southern areas.
The search-and-rescue drones are equipped with advanced multi-lens imaging systems, low-light capability, thermal imaging enhanced by auxiliary lighting, infrared-cut filters for improved clarity, and all-direction obstacle avoidance. Their features allow effective deployment in locating missing persons, conducting structural and environmental inspections, and supporting emergency response missions.
The cargo drones, also bestowed by Their Majesties, are designed to transport supplies over long distances and reach remote or inaccessible areas. Capable of operating above 5,000 meters with high load capacity and advanced safety systems, they offer both compartment and hoist-based delivery modes. The drones also include dual-operator control, redundant battery systems, obstacle-avoidance technology, and an automatic parachute for emergency scenarios.
Their Majesties’ benevolence underscores the enduring royal commitment to alleviating hardship, strengthening national disaster-response capabilities, and supporting the well-being of Thai people in times of crisis. (NNT)
