Their Royal Heightnesses! We reveal how tall the Windsors REALLY are…

Have you ever wondered how you would measure up next to the Queen or perhaps a future King?

Well, look no further as The Mail’s new Royals section has compiled a list of the heights of some of the best-known figures of the British Royal Family.

It’s safe to say that there is quite a variety, with Prince William and Prince Harry well above six feet tall. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are at the other end of the scale.

Here is how the Royal Family rank over three generations, from the late Queen Elizabeth to her grandchildren.

How would you measure up against the Royal Family? Look no further

Being a Royal means standing tall (or at least as tall as you can) while looking your absolute best – just like Charles and Diana did (left) and William and Kate (do today)

 1. Queen Elizabeth (5’4)

Although the head of the family, the late Queen Elizabeth was  not the tallest.

Standing at just 5’3, she was towered over by many other Royals, including her grandsons. Even her great grandson, George, appeared to be catching up in later years.

However, the Queen still knew how to make an entrance and was noticed by all.

In part, this was thanks to her iconic, carefully chosen and brightly-coloured outfits which had her standing out from any crowd.

2. Princess Beatrice (5’4)

Princess Beatrice is the shortest of the current Royals, having more in common with  the late Queen than her tall cousins, William and Harry.

Fortunately for the Princess, this meant that she could borrow the vintage dress designed by Norman Hartnell worn by the Queen for her wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

5. Zara Tindall (5’6)

Zara Tindall is the same height as her mother at 5’6 tall. This is helpful for her equestrian as it is better for riders to be of average or shorter height than tall.

6.  Princess Anne (5’6)

Like her daughter, the Princess Royal is above average height for the UK – yet no more than average for the Royal Family. But with good natural poise and bearing, she cuts an elegant figure, all the same.
