The people of Greater Manchester love their telly.
We’re partial to a cosy Saturday night, or you could say every evening, in front of the TV.
And everyone knows we’re home to the UK’s longest running soap, Coronation Street.
But we’re also not afraid to raise concerns if something doesn’t sit quite right.
Over the last year, 6,000 complaints were made in the North West to Ofcom about TV programmes – with Manchester topping the list of towns/cities that complain the most, according to BuzzBingo.
There were 1,243 complaints from Manchester viewers from June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019.
Shortly following behind were TV-lovers in Liverpool with 1,029, and Stockport came in third place with 298 complaints to Ofcom.
The most complained about shows were Celebrity Big Brother, Loose Women, Sky News and Love Island.
Season 22 of Celebrity Big Brother received nearly half of all Ofcom complaints in the last year.
The Channel 5 show was littered with controversies from the start, with Brazilian reality TV star Rodrigo Alves being removed from the show after a series of racist remarks, as well as the drama between Manchester’s Ryan Thomas and Roxanne Pallett.
