This Stoke-on-Trent neighbourhood has its post office back and a new shop too

Residents have their post office back after a one-time household appliances business was overhauled. Trent Vale had been missing the provision after the branch went on the move.

StokeonTrentLive reported how the facility had been running at 819 London Road before shutting for good on October 8. Customers were signposted to Clayton and Hanford.

Now the new branch – at 783 London Road – is back open and is being operated by the same post office. That unit had been empty for at least a year.

It had previously operated for several years as E. Joynson which sold household appliances including washers, driers and vacuum cleaners. The unit is now home to a post office and convenience store.

A spokesperson for Post Office said: “These premises, which were empty, underwent a full refurbishment for a Post Office alongside cards and convenience retail.

“The Postmaster identified an opportunity to move this branch from 819 London Road to the new location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community.

“The relocated Trent Vale Post Office has two screened Post Office serving positions and it offers the same range of products and services.”

It will open between 9am and 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
