The multinational postal service is hiring thousands of extra helping hands to deliver packages across the UK just in time for Christmas – and you could be one of them.

Seasonal Mail Sorter jobs start at £11.40 per hour, while the Mount Pleasant mail centre in Farringdon, central London, is offering £13.45 per hour for day shifts and up to £15.75 per hour for working nights.
Responsibilities include unloading parcels and letters from vans, transporting them to warehouses and ensuring that packages arrive at their destination safely.
The shift patterns available in London are:
Monday to Friday: 18:00 – 22:00
Monday to Sunday: 18:00 to 06:00
Saturday: 14:00 – 22:00
Seasonal jobs at Royal Mail are usually contracted for 12 weeks, with an opportunity to extend your contract if demand is sustained or you are looking to expand your career within the company.
No formal qualifications are needed, however you must be able to “comfortably stand for long periods” and sort numerous items with your team during a single shift.
Here’s what the postal giant is looking for in terms of potential candidates:

You’re flexible and happy to switch between various tasks during a shift

You’re able to push trolleys (up to 250kg) and lift and move mail bags (up to 11kg)

You don’t need to have worked for us before (we love new people!), but experience in a warehouse or sorting work is a plus.
Owed to an extra increase in demand, the renown postal service is also looking for temporary Christmas delivery drivers.
