Thousands of people are expected to attend a huge music festival in an abandoned hospital. The event is being run by Paradisco, which was founded by two local DJs last year.

Sie Austin, from Wavertree, and Ant Chandler, from Huyton, started Paradisco last year with a room of 300 people in 24 Kitchen Street in the Baltic Triangle. The DJs are aiming to create “real clubbing environments, with great people, great music and non-stop dancing.”

Since it started, Paradisco has held parties at The Dome Grand Central Hall, Club 051 and Gbar, which were all sold out well in advance. Later this month, Pardadisco will host its biggest ever party with its own festival, which will be located within the grounds of Newsham Park Hospital.

Located in Tuebrook, Newsham Park Hospital has previously been described as the “most haunted” building in the city. The building was originally home to an orphanage and it was then used as a hospital, followed by an asylum.

A number of spooky-themed events are now held there after the building was vacated in 1997, with Newsham Scream Park being described as one of Europe’s biggest scare events. The building and its grounds have gained a strong reputation for ghosts and the paranormal activity.

The ECHO was recently given a tour of areas that were previously closed to the public. Organisers of Paradisco: The Festival are expecting 3,000 partygoers to attend and have warned ticket sales are moving extremely fast.

The main stage will be in the courtyard where a huge festival sized arena is being built. This will be covered in case of bad weather. There will be an additional stage inside the hospital with its own unique feel.

Paradisco: The Festival describes itself as a “celebration of dance culture”, with nods to the past, present and future of house and disco. Organisers have promised the likes of Ibiza house classics and cutting edge contemporary music.

The line up will consist of including house disco icon Dimitri from Paris, Toolroom Records’ Mark Knight plus house icons Julie McKnight, Alison Limerick and Duane Harden all performing live.

There will also be Carlos Willengton, who will be flying back to Liverpool from Spain for a vinyl only set along with local artists Sie and Ant, Dave Graham, Steve Parry and Benny Mussa who blew up in 2023 with their track ‘Save My Life’.

Pardisco has teamed up with Liverpool famed artist Neil Keating to create the festival’s artwork. Neil is responsible for designing the Liverpool sign in Chavasse Park and Eurovision murals as well as his own house exhibitions amongst many others.

Neil will also be selling merchandise at the festival alongside Scouse fashion brand Lost Soles. There will be numerous food vendors too including Liverpool based ‘Simply salt n pepper.’

The festival will take place on Saturday, September 28 from 2pm to 10.30pm. There will also be a huge after party and a secret guest DJ afterwards.

This will take place at the Dome in Grand Central Hall on Renshaw Street in the city centre. You can find out more about Pardisco: The Festival here.
