Police made a number of arrests during a day-long crackdown in Coventry. Officers were deployed across the city, including in Earlsdon and Foleshill.
Teams from the North East SNT arrested four people in the city, including a man believed to be carrying out shop thefts in Longford, Stoke, and Wyken. Three others were arrested in connection with serious youth violence in Coventry.
Patrols were conducted at Warwickshire Shopping Park, Airport Retail Park, Arena Shopping Park, and Gallagher Retail Park. Officers also carried out 12 stop-and-searches, with a small amount of cannabis recovered.

Teams targeted vehicle crime hotspots in the city and were joined by the WMP Traffic Unit. It led to them recovering a stolen Ford Focus in Earlsdon.

Officers were also deployed to Foleshill Road and Stoney Stanton Road. Several illegally parked vehicles were reported.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Officers secured some excellent results this week as Op Chino arrived in Coventry. Op Chino is our monthly day of high-intensity policing, focusing on a different area of the city.
“It was the turn of the North East SNT, with officers making a number of significant arrests. Four arrests were made in total, including a man who was arrested on suspicion of shop thefts in Coventry.
“Three people were also arrested in connection with serious youth violence in Coventry. Warwickshire Shopping Park, Airport Retail Park, Arena Shopping Park, and Gallagher Retail Park were all patrolled with a mixture of uniformed and plain-clothed officers.”

“Working alongside Safer Travel, the team also carried out a parking operation on Stoney Stanton Road and Foleshill Road, reporting a number of vehicles for parking violations. We run Op Chino in a different part of Coventry each month, focusing on high-priority issues in each area,” they added.
