Three suspects seen on CCTV prying in vehicles in Saxmundham

The individuals were reported three separate times as they attempted to gain access to vehicles in Saxmundham at around 5am on Sunday.

One incident involved the hooded suspects gaining entry to a Volkswagen Polo on Fairfield road, reportedly stealing a tool bag and spare change.

In another incident, they entered a Ford Focus, also on Fairfield Road, and released the handbrake causing the car to roll down the hill and hit a wall.

In a final incident the individuals, kitted in full tracksuits with their hoods up, entered a Royal Mail van on St John’s Road, however nothing has been reported as stolen.

Police confirmed on Wednesday that the trio were seen on CCTV on Albion Street, near to The Railway Tavern at around 4.55am.

They walked away from the train station and are then seen again at around 5am at the top of Albion Street before walking onto Fairfield Road from Rendham Road.

The suspects are then last seen at 5.10am on St John’s Road, not far from the junction with Fairfield Road.

Following the spate of incidents, police urged the public to always lock their vehicles, keep windows closed, secure items on the outside and not to leave valuables in the vehicles.

They also advised to remove electronics from mountings, remove tools, or lock them away and mark them clearly and to park in busy bright areas where possible.
