Baloo Properties Ltd has submitted proposals to change the use of vacant land at the junction of Bostock Road to the east of Road One, creating extra storage space for a company which manufactures HGV trailers.
Tiger Trailers is an existing business occupying a manufacturing facility just north of the application site which was granted planning permission in 2017. It is now operational and counts firms like Tesco, Eddie Stobart and Royal Mail among its customers.
The new trailer storage earlier would support the company’s continued growth.
The proposed four acre patch of land is currently undeveloped but is allocated for employment uses in the Neighbourhood Plan for Winsford – a strategic document which sets out the town’s planning priorities.
A design and access statement submitted in support of the plans, said: “The current application is intended to serve the continued expansion of a successful business on the industrial estate and consequently the current application is progressed as a fresh full planning application.”
As part of the proposals, the site would be lined with a 2.4m black paladin security fence, with a gated access point provided to the north and lighting.
The statement added: “The development proposal under this application seeks to support the requirements and operation of the Tiger Trailers development to the north in order to better meet the business needs.
The statement added that the move would help support the growth of an existing local employer.
It said: “The development would support economic growth and productivity through supporting the needs of an existing business and local employer in the area, and it is considered significant weight should be afforded to the economic benefits arising from the development.”
