A toddler has been airlifted to hospital in the UK after being viscously mauled by a dog on Thursday afternoon.
The child, who has not been identified, was taken by helicopter from a home in Kent, in the Broomfield Road area of Faversham.
Police were called to the area on June 7 at approximately 2.15pm and the dog involved in the mauling was removed from the property.
A police inquiry into how the attack occurred has been launched by police, no arrests regarding the incident have been made to date.
The youngster was brought to a hospital in London with a ‘number of injuries’ which are not thought to to be life-threatening, according to UK police.
This is the latest in a series of horrific dog attacks occurring throughout the UK in recent months.

Almost 1,700 posties were attacked by dogs by dogs last year with some suffering permanent and disabling injuries, according to research released by the Royal Mail earlier this month.
An average of 32 attacks on posties occur a week. 40% happened at the front door, 30% in the garden or driveway and 23% though the letterbox.
