TOWAR: Royal Oak schools embrace Blessings in a Backpack program to help students in need

We don’t like to think that children in our own communities may not get enough to eat. In the Royal Oak school system, about 1,400 students are on free or reduced lunch programs, according to Superintendent Tom Moline. School is often the primary source of nutrition for these kids and some return to school hungry on Mondays.
