Treasure Seasons’ ‘Spring’ box just in time for Mothering Sunday

If you’re wondering what sort of gift to give for Mothering Sunday this weekend, you might consider a Treasure Seasons presentation box – order by Friday and the box will be delivered with a smile to the doorstep by bicycle on the big day.

How a Mothering Sunday ‘Spring’ box as delivered by Julia Leong would look on the doorstep

The idea was conceived by Julia Leong, a language teacher who moved to Queen Edith’s from Oxford last summer. With her partner working in a local intensive care unit, Julia decided to start her own business before applying for a new job in the area.

“I created Treasure Seasons early this year to help families to reconnect with the seasons, find joy in the little things and celebrate the everyday,” says Julia.

“In this first box, there are eight curated projects designed to unite families with children of different ages or adults who live together. The activities in the box include outdoor and indoor crafting, baking, decorating, gathering and celebrating. They are designed to foster an appreciation for the seasons and spark little rays of sunshine by creating together. They will help you to celebrate the everyday, value the little things and find calm and connection in a turbulent world and time.”

The gift box also includes a 40-page full colour booklet, written by Julia, that gives detailed instructions for the various projects.

Julia adds: “At the same time, there are many ways in which you can use the resources provided and adapt the activities to suit different age groups, interests and skills. This makes all activities accessible for very young children, including babies and toddlers and still keeps them interesting and sufficiently challenging for older children or adults.”

Each box contains enough supplies for four people to work together, though some projects are communal projects.

“There’s a different box for each season so this one is the spring one, the summer one will be out in May or June.”

Inside there is a 40-page booklet describing the various activities which include baking, craft making – paper and feathers are provided for flower-making, and materials for painting Easter eggs.

“I’ve sold 11 already, even though I only started two weeks ago,” says Julia. “I greatly care about the environment and have opted for recycled and compostable packing. No gimmicks, no rubbish, just high quality and carefully sourced resources, all planned through, with virtually no waste.”

At the moment the presentation boxes are available via Etsy, with discussions taking place with shops and Click It Local.

A 40 per cent reduction means they are available for £32.40. Deliveries by hand for Cambridge area, with orders for Sunday needing to be booked in by close of play Friday. Outside Cambridge deliveries are by Royal Mail.
