Tributes to young pedestrian killed in Royal Mail van collision near Exeter

Devon and Cornwall Police have released a family tribute to 23-year-old Hamish Culling, who died following a collision with a Royal Mail goods vehicle on an A30 slip road near Exeter airport.

The family has said they ‘will never recover’ from their loss after the tragic accident at 1.55am on the A30 Honiton-bound carriageway, by the off-slip to Exeter Airport.

The tribute issued by police says: “Hamish Culling was sadly taken from us in a tragic road traffic accident in the early hours of Friday morning.

“It is a huge loss from which his family will never recover. He was known to lots of people and it is to the people who knew him well and loved him that the family ask to treasure him. Remembering all the precious memories that they have in their own way.”

The family has now asked to be left to grieve with the people who loved him most, police have said.

The accident happened at around 1.55am on Friday March 6 with reports of a collision between a Royal Mail goods vehicle and a pedestrian on the A30 Honiton-bound carriageway, by the off-slip for Exeter Airport.

Emergency services attended and sadly Mr Culling was pronounced deceased at the scene.
