Two fire engines dispatched after garage catches fire on Christmas Eve

THE services of firefighters were required to tackle a fire involving a garage on Christmas Eve.

Two fire engines from Penketh and Widnes fire stations rushed to Newlyn Gardens in Penketh at around 1.30pm.

This came after Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the blaze.

On arrival at the scene, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

Fans were then used to remove smoke from the building.

A fire service spokesman confirmed that all persons were accounted for.
