Two men in court after drugs seized in Birmingham

Two men appeared in court after drugs were seized in Birmingham. It follows a quantity of drugs and cash being discovered in Lozells.

Abdi Risak, 21, and Abdullaahi Hassan, 30, were charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply. The pair appeared before Birmingham Magistrates’ on Thursday, December 19.

They were remanded into custody and will next appear in front of a judge at the city’s Crown court in the New Year.

In a statement, police said: “Two men have appeared in court charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply. Abdi Risak, aged 21, and Abdullaahi Hassan, 30, appeared before Birmingham Magistrates on Thursday (19 Dec).

“They were remanded in custody until 16 January when they are due to appear at a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court. It comes after officers from our Proactive Crime Team in Birmingham arrested three men in Hunters Road, Lozells on Tuesday and recovered a quantity of drugs and cash. A third man has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.”
