Two more Covid deaths in Oxfordshire in latest 24 hour data

TWO more people have died in Oxfordshire after testing positive for Covid-19 as more than 20 million people have received their first dose of a vaccine.

One death was recorded in Oxford and one in South Oxfordshire, which takes the total number of people who have died from the virus in the county to 709.

According to the Government’s website, as of 4pm on Monday, there were 30 new cases in the county.

These were the numbers for the past 24 hours by local authority:

l Oxford – 6

l South Oxfordshire – 3

l West Oxfordshire – 1

l Vale of White Horse – 11

l Cherwell – 9

The total number of coronavirus cases since the pandemic started are:

l Oxford – 9,029

l Oxfordshire – 32,097

Separate data from NHS England revealed that one new coronavirus death had been recorded at the Oxford Trust in the latest 24-hour period.

Daily death counts are revised every day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.

This means that some of the deaths that were first recorded in the latest period may actually have taken place days earlier.

That was an increase of one compared to Friday, when there were 473, which means there have been three deaths in the past week, down from 17 the last week.

Public Health England confirmed that the UK has recorded a further 104 Covid-related deaths and 5,455 new cases.
