The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) consented to make an appointment with Royal Mail on Monday to attempt and find a way forward in our national conflicts, according to a letter sent on Friday to postal branches across the nation.
Leaders of the union representing striking postal employees in the UK will meet with Royal Mail management on Monday in an effort to avert any disruptive shutdowns in the coming months.
According to a letter written on Friday to postal branches around the country that was obtained by CNBC, the Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) agreed to schedule a meeting with Royal Mail on Monday to attempt and find a way forward towards their national conflicts.If a solution is not found, there will be further 19 days of industrial action by over 115,000 postal workers in Britain leading up to the holiday season, including on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The CWU General Secretary stated last week that the size of the strikes reflects the amount of fury felt by the union’s members about how they are treated by Royal Mail executives.
