Outline permission has been granted for up to 40 flats on the site of a former private car park in Dunstall Street, Scunthorpe.
RGB & KC Woollin were the applicants. The flats would be built across four levels of one building, ground floor to third floor, with ten on each level. There would also be 20 car parking spaces created.
The initial permission has been granted subject to a S106 agreement that requires cash paid to local healthcare and recreational facilities. £13,000 will also be paid to the council for management of on site open space.
The building is planned to comprise 32 one-bed and eight two-bed flats. Eight of the flats will be affordable housing – where it is sold or rented out at least 20 per cent below market value. Six will be rented.

The applicants will pay £29,666 towards recreational improvements locally. These include to natural grass pitches for adult football, and to swimming pool and sports hall facilities, and indoor bowling.
The S106 agreement also includes approximately £27,600 to be paid in health contributions. The split of this is not known, but elsewhere in the agreement, it states it will be spent on facilities at The Birches Medical Practice, The Oak Tree Medical Practice, and Oswald Road Medical Surgery.
