U.S. gas terminal clears hurdle (The Globe and Mail)

CALGARY — The U.S. federal energy regulator has approved plans by TransCanada Corp. and Royal Dutch Shell PLC to build a $1-billion (U.S.) liquefied natural gas terminal in Long Island Sound, saying the gas is needed by energy-hungry consumers.
