Philatelic Foreword by Jay Bigalke
The United States Postal Service’s 2025 Stamp Yearbook is available Oct. 1 and once again serves as a colorful keepsake and gift idea for collectors.
I continue to reminisce about the stamp yearbook being the gift my parents bought for me each year when I was growing up, which is why I write about the yearbook annually. The new 2025 edition is no exception, and it’s a great holiday gift suggestion.
The stories behind the stamps are again the thrust of this year’s edition. The 64-page hardcover book measures 8¾ inches by 11¼ inches and features background information on each of the issues from 2025. The book includes 91 commemorative stamps from the Postal Service’s 2025 program, along with water-activated stamp mounts.
The 2025 edition contains fewer stamps than the 2024 yearbook (which included 108), but it still provides a collection of what collectors call commemoratives. The price remains $112 (item No. 992520). Based on the current 78¢ forever rate that took effect July 13, a rough estimate of the face value for the 91 included stamps is about $70.98.
As in recent years, the Postal Service is also offering two separate packets for issues not included with the yearbook: a “2025 Mail Use Stamp Packet” with 67 stamps with mounts at $54.05 (item No. 992504), and a “2025 High Value Mail Stamp Packet” with five stamps with mounts at $50.54 (item No. 992506).
