Validair announces contract success with OxBox at Oxford Biomedica

The new contract sees VMSL working in conjunction with WHP Engineering (WHP), the supplier undertaking the comprehensive repurposing of the OxBox premises at Oxford Business Park

Validair Monitoring Solutions (VMS) has been appointed to provide environmental monitoring systems for the new ‘OxBox’ facility at Oxford Biomedica. The contract comes on the back of successful partnerships at Oxford Biomedica’s original facilities with the supply and support of FMS solutions.

The new contract sees VMSL working in conjunction with WHP Engineering (WHP), the supplier undertaking the comprehensive repurposing of the OxBox premises at Oxford Business Park, as well as the complete fit-out of new cleanrooms and related systems and services. The new 84,000 sq.ft. (7,800m 2 ) OxBox facility was formerly a Royal Mail sorting office. The refit contract includes offices, warehousing, laboratories and 45,000 sq. feet of cleanroom suites. It will more than double Oxford Biomedica’s bioprocessing capacity.

VMS has supported Oxford Biomedica for several years with monitoring systems in its existing premises, during which time the ground-breaking gene and cell-based therapy product manufacturer has enjoyed substantial growth and consolidated its market presence. As a result, VMS expanded its support infrastructure and service delivery to the company, moving its relationship to full partnership status.

“We are delighted to be working alongside WHP and are proud to be associated with this inspiring new OxBox project,” says Steve Wake, MD at Validair Monitoring Solutions. “We look forward to strengthening our continuing relationship with Oxford Biomedica by delivering and supporting the industry-leading facility monitoring solutions that this dynamic company needs to stay at the forefront of its field.”
