Valuable resource to local community saved after new buyer steps in

Residents in a small village will continue to enjoy their shop and post office after it found a new buyer. The Londis-branded convenience store and post office in Grampound Road between Truro and St Austell has been sold by former owners Andrew and Tina Bishop, who have run the store for the last seven years and now wish to retire.

Christie & Co estate agent who handled the sale said the new owners are keen to continue the store’s legacy with continuity for the local community.

Andrew and Tina said: “We are really pleased to have now completed on the sale of Grampound Road Londis & Post Office. It has been a pleasure running the store and assisting the local community however we feel the time is now right to pass on the reins to someone new. We would like to thank all our loyal customers over the years, who I know will be happy with the new owners.”

Matthew McFarlane, Business Agent at Christie & Co, managed the sale and said, “The store presented a fabulous opportunity for the new owners to continue its success. I wish Andrew and Tina well in their retirement and wish all the best to the new owners with their new venture.”

The new owners, who didn’t want to be known at this stage, added: “We are very much looking forward to working with the local community and assisting with all their convenience and post office needs. The business has been well established by the previous owners, and we look forward to continuing this legacy.
