VAT-free Royal Mail gets EU backing (Channel 4)

Royal Mail’s VAT-free status has been backed by an advocate-general at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. The legal “opinion” came in a case brought by rival UK mail delivery service TNT, which has to pay VAT, challenging Royal Mail’s right not to pay the tax.
