Virgin Media down latest as customers left without internet access

Virgin Media customers are currently experiencing a loss of internet service. More than 1,000 users have reported the problem on Downdetector, which tracks online service statuses and real-time outages.

The issues began surfacing this morning at around 9am, with most complaints centring on fixed-line broadband, though some also pertain to streaming television services. Disgruntled customers have aired their grievances on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One frustrated user remarked: “Oh look, Virgin Media is on fire again. Must be the weekly outage.”

Another chimed in with criticism: “Virgin Media will crumble, worst broadband in the country.” A third customer lamented that their broadband had “gone down,” while a fourth mentioned their wifi was “playing up”.

With over 5.8 million broadband subscribers in the UK, Virgin Media’s outage has impacted a significant number of people. The company has been approached for a statement regarding the situation.

To check the status of their connection, customers can visit the Virgin Media website and log into their accounts, where they can find the latest information on broadband performance in their local area.

A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “We’re aware that some customers are experiencing intermittent issues with their services. We apologise for any inconvenience and are working to fix this as a priority.”
