A Year 5 pupil in Warndon, Worcester has received a special letter of reply from Her Majesty The Queen.

Jenson, who attends Oasis Academy Warndon, decided he would write to the Queen and share with her a PowerPoint he made based on her 70-year reign to celebrate her upcoming Platinum Jubilee.

Just one week later, he received his very own response.

Dear Jenson,

The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for your letter and splendid PowerPoint presentation which you sent to Her Majesty on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee.

The Queen was glad to hear from you and, although unable to reply to you personally, Her Majesty greatly appreciates the care that has been taken to make this presentation especially for her.

I am to thank you again for your message of good wishes to The Queen to this, her Platinum Jubilee year.

Suzanne Owen, principal at Oasis Academy Warndon, said: “It is an amazing privilege to see one of our students receive mail from Buckingham Palace.

“A true embodiment of the nine habits we stand for. It is lovely to see that a promising future can be achieved by our pupils.”

Jenson said: “I can’t believe Her Majesty the Queen wrote back to me. It is truly amazing. I was hopeful that she would, but I know how busy she is.”

The Platinum Jubilee took place on Sunday, February 6 but major celebrations will be taking place from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5.
