Warning over Christmas Royal Mail iPhone 11 scam that asks for bank details

Shoppers are being warned to be aware of a Royal Mail scam that threatens to leave people out of pocket this Christmas.

People across the country have reported receiving a text message, claiming to be from Royal Mail, telling them they have won an iPhone 11 via a “Currys PC World Christmas List”.

The text instructs people that the phone is waiting to be confirmed or claimed by the same afternoon and provides a link to prizestoconfirm.com

According to one moneysavingexpert.com user the website that asks for bank details in order to charge a “delivery fee”.
